Home Visiting Strategic Plan

This Home Visiting Strategic Plan presents the strategic direction for San Joaquin County to coordinate, enhance, expand, and advocate for high quality early childhood home visiting programs. The Plan provides a set of five-year goals selected by the community based on local needs and strengths and home visiting best practices. It provides a roadmap of how to support families with the home visiting services they need, to maximize available funding, and to attract new funding to meet the high-unmet need for additional home visiting services.

GOAL 1:
Funding

• Identify funding sources to support home visiting coordination efforts and capacity-building
• Increase system and agency capacity to demonstrate home visiting need and impact to funders
• Increase individual agency and program capacity to respond to Requests for Funding

GOAL 2:
Workforce Support

• Recruit a skilled workforce
• Increase access to training and professional development
• Increase home visitor retention

GOAL 3:
Children and Families First

• Ensure all home visiting services are family responsive
• Build workplace cultural competency
• Increase access to community resources
